• If you're having a baby, you've probably been
  told to make a birth plan. A birth plan is a
  document that outlines your preferences for the
  birth of your baby.

  midwife as a way to tell them what kind of birth
  experience you'd like to have.

  progresses and depending on how things are going.

  your place of birth. It ensures that you're fully
  informed about all aspects of labour and birth,
  so that you can make informed decisions.

  every effort to support you in achieving the type

  remember that sometimes things don't go according
  to plan - for example if there are complications
  during labour or if interventions become
  necessary for the safety of mother

  women, and for good reason. Some believe birth
  plans increase your odds of achieving the birth
  you want.

  unrealistic and an exercise in futility. I'm a
  firm believer in birth plans, but not for the
