Pathogen Capture Technology

• Human pathogens such as viruses, bacteria and
  fungi, bind to proteins and sugar chains on our
  cell surfaces to establish an infection.
• Aquilas proprietary PCT uses biomolecules
  that mimic these glycoproteins to bind to the
  protein spikes on pathogens, capturing and
  neutralising them. These strong covalent bonds
  are similar to Velcro, a mechanism from which
  they cannot escape.
• This technology is already being applied in
  the ABD Device and ProShield Mask Spray and our
  RD teams continue to develop new products and
  applications.

• Aquila Bioscience developed the ABD
  Technology in association with the Irish and
  Czech military for the protection of first
  responders against potential biothreat agents.
  The technology is highly effective against a
  broad range of pathogens and very versatile.
• Unlike standard disinfectant wipes and
  sanitizing wipes that can damage skin and
  surfaces with their harmful chemicals and alcohol
  content, Aquilas ABD Device is an alcohol free
  cleansing and decontamination wipe that contains
  no harmful chemicals meaning it does not promote
  anti-microbial resistance in pathogens while also
  being safe to use on skin and surfaces.
• ABDs are free from alcohol biocides and toxic
  chemicals and so do not cause skin irritation or
  destroy skin cells. This alcohol free
  antibacterial and cleansing wipe is largely made
  of biodegradable material and is, therefore, more
  environmentally friendly than other products. Our
  technology effectively traps and disarms germs
  and harmful pathogens preventing contamination
  and illness.
• The Anti Bioagent Decontamination (ABD) Device
  is offered in the form of an antimicrobial
  wipe and is essential PPE for the workplace. It
  is the only product available in the market that
  can be used on sensitive skin surfaces like
  around the eyes, nose and mouth. It can also be
  used on surfaces not suitable for biocide
  decontamination.
• The ABD product is supplied in a dispensing
  box containing 50 individually wrapped wipes
