• The first v2x chipset was the Qualcomm
  Snapdragon X55, announced in June 2019. It's
  built on a 7nm process and supports 5G. The X55
  also supports 4G LTE and 5G NR, along with the
  rest of the latest cellular technologies, like 3x
  carrier aggregation and 4x4 MIMO.

• The next generation of v2x chipsets is expected
  to arrive soon. They'll provide faster
  performance and better range than previous
  versions of v2X technology.

• Qualcomm says the first v2x chipset will be
  available in 2020 in cars from Audi, Jaguar Land
  Rover and Mercedes-Benz.

• These vehicles will be able to communicate with
  pedestrians through their vehicle's display
  screens or even share data about road conditions
  with other cars around them.

• Qualcomm is going to release the v2x chipsets
  Snapdragon X24 LTE modem, Snapdragon X16 LTE
  modem and Snapdragon X15 LTE modem. The
  Snapdragon X24 LTE modem supports peak download
  speeds of up to 2 Gbps which is twice as fast as
  the previous generation.

• The Snapdragon X16 LTE modem provides peak
  download speeds of 1 Gbps and upload speeds of
  150 Mbps for both Cat 16 and Cat 13 devices. The
  Snapdragon X15 LTE modem supports peak download
  speeds of 800 Mbps for Cat 9 devices.

• Qualcomm's v2x chipsets are designed to provide a
  seamless user experience for 5G connectivity.
  They support the 5G NR (New Radio) standard for
  4G/5G mobile networks, which is being developed
  by 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project).
  Qualcomm has announced that its first commercial
  5G smartphone will be released in 2019 by one of
  its partners.

• The V2X chipsets from Intel and Qualcomm are
  already in production, and theyre both designed
  for similar use cases. They can connect to other
  vehicles, infrastructure and the cloud to
  exchange information about road conditions,
  hazards and traffic lights.

• They both support a common communication standard
  called 5G New Radio (5G NR), which was developed
  by 3GPP as a successor to 4G LTE. 5G NR is a set
  of specifications that define how wireless
  networks should work at the new radio layer.
