Anti-wrinkle injections provide an effective
treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, using a
protein called Botulinum Toxin of which BOTOX is
a trade name of a product made by Allergan.

Introduction
BOTOX treatment has been around for well over
20 years now and is well-known for being a super
safe, quick and reliable solution for fine lines
and wrinkles with virtually no downtime. Static
wrinkles, which are wrinkles that appear when the
face is at rest are best to be improved with
BOTOX combined with soft tissue fillers
containing hyaluronic acid, which rejuvenates
ageing skin by increasing collagen production.

WHICHAREAS CAN BE TREATED?
There are typically three main areas that are
treated with BOTOX for wrinkles Frown
lines Frown lines (Glabellar lines) are one of
the most common areas to be treated. These frown
wrinkles are usually vertical lines and can be
mistaken for emotional expressions such as anger,
anxiety or fear. They are very successfully
treated with BOTOX. Forehead wrinkles Horizontal
lines that appear between the eyebrows and
hairline are formed during facial expressions to
convey emotions such as surprise or empathy.
These lines can easily be targeted and treated
with anti-wrinkle injections such as
BOTOX. Crows feet Crows feet or laughter
lines as they are most commonly known are in the
outer corner of the eyes and are more prominent
when laughing or smiling.

CONSULTATION TREATMENT
We offer a free consultation where there will be
an opportunity for us to examine your areas of
concern and advise on the best treatment for you.
Wrinkle relaxing injections with BOTOX are
proven to be safe and effective. You will be
provided with detailed consent and medical
history forms which you will be asked to read and
sign before treatment. Our doctors will be happy
to answer any further questions you may
have. The results of the treatment usually
begin to appear around day 5 after treatment.
BOTOX usually lasts around 3-4 months, however,
the effects can last up to six months in some
people. The average is 2-6 months. Repeated
treatments progressively weaken the targeted
muscles and can lead to more prolonged duration
and less frequent treatments. The Doctor will
inject small amounts of Botulinum Toxin to the
targeted muscles using an ultra-fine needle which
is usually well tolerated. Mild swelling around
the injection point usually settles within 30
mins.

AFTERCARE
Follow ups are generally not needed for
subsequent treatments. Please do not make
contact to discuss the result before 14 days as
this is the minimum time frame for the BOTOX to
work. Bruising and swelling is not uncommon and
will settle spontaneously. Heaviness in the
eyebrows and/or upper eyelid is a well-described
side effect of BOTOX treatment and CAN occur.
Please consult your doctor if you are concerned
about this. BOTOX is completely reversible and
therefore any unwanted issues will resolve with
time therefore you can be reassured in most cases
of unwanted effects. You will be given a copy of
the Consent Form to take home. Please read this
before contacting us as the answer to your
concern may well be addressed in that document.
You can resume normal activities
immediately. You are free to drive yourself home
or return to work immediately after the
treatment. It is best to avoid exercise for 24
hours after the treatment. Please note that the
area should not be massaged after
treatment. BOTOX injections cannot be
administered to under 18s and the treatment is
not permitted to anyone who is pregnant or
breastfeeding. We advise avoiding BOTOX
treatment within 2 weeks on either side of
receiving a COVID19 vaccine. You are advised to
attend for a review 2-3 weeks after your first
treatment to assess the result and to tweak it as
necessary.
