HALO BLIGHT
Symptoms
Management
  • Rotate with non legumes like sorghum and millet
    (2 to 3 years)
  • Plant Tolerant green gram varieties
  • Remove diseased plants
  • Deep ploughing to burry and destroy diseased
    plants

Leaf covered by dead spots of tan to orange
coloration with a yellow halo

Symptoms
Management
  • Dont plant in field with disease last year
  • Remove and burn diseased plants
  • Treat seed with Thiram or captan at 2.5g/kg of
    seed before sowing
  • Spray Mancozeb and repeat at 10 to 15 days
    interval

Spots with pale brown/grayish center with reddish
brown margin

Symptoms
Management
  • Remove diseased plants
  • Grow tolerant green gram varieties like NAROGRAM1
    and NAROGRAM2.
  • Use yellow stick traps (10 to 12 traps per
    hectare to trap white flies
  • If white flies are many, spray at 15 days
    interval with imidacloprid or neem oil

Symptoms
Management
  • Use tolerant varieties for example NAROGRAM2
  • Control weeds before sowing
  • Spray Carbendazim (1g/L) or neem oil (20ml/L) at
    10 days interval

RECOMMENDATIONS ON DISEASE MANAGEMENT
  • Focus on use of integrated disease management (
    combined use of a wide range of available disease
    management options)
  • Inspect you garden for disease out break
    (starting 30 days after planting) continue weekly
    up to 55 days after planting.
