4 Common Myths About Graphic Design
  • Graphic design has advanced a lot. Graphic design
is an ever-evolving art form. However, many
designers believe the same graphic design myths.
We've compiled a list of graphic design myths and
offer tips to help you create your own.
  • Graphic design has evolved with technology. John
Phanchalad believes that Graphic design is now
used in many different areas than just printing
materials. It can also be used digitally and in
virtual reality. Unfortunately, there are many
misconceptions about graphic design, even though
it has been used in many different ways over the
years. We will be addressing 4 common
misconceptions regarding graphic design in this
    article.

1. Graphic design does not just involve creating
logos
  • A logo is an essential graphic design asset for
every business. Logos become your business's
emblem, and people will be able to identify with
your brand values and what you offer. This is
evident in the Nike swoosh, which comes with
"Just Do It" or McDonald's golden M.
  • Graphic design doesn't just involve creating
logos. Instead, graphic design is about creating
visual content that communicates a message.
  • This can be used on various media, including
posters, album covers, magazine spreads, and
    infographics brand presentations.

2. Graphic design can only be used in print media
  • Graphic design is now available in various
digital media, possibly even more than printing.
Website banners, email newsletters, and social
media graphics are all examples. As a result,
many graphic designers find their roles
cross-over with UX (user experience design),
    content generation, and social media.

3. Graphic design uses only still images
  • Graphic design does not have to be limited to
graphics or still imagery. Video continues to be
one of the most powerful advertising mediums.
Animation and videos are now an integral part of
graphic design. GIFs, graphics for YouTube
videos, animated infographics, and social media
ads with a slideshow of graphics and images are
all examples. If you have a business, you might
consider making video slideshows and GIFs for
Facebook ads. Research shows that this is five
times more engaging than static imagery.

4. Graphic design requires fancy tools
  • Professional graphic designers use sophisticated
design software, a tablet with a stylus, and
complex design tools. These tools can allow
designers greater freedom, but they can also be
very expensive and take many years to master. The
good news? You don't have to spend much money to
create graphic design elements. Canva is one of
many free tools that makes graphic design simple
and easy. In addition, these tools can be used
for all pieces of branding collateral to give
your brand a professional and elevated look.
