KNOCKED-OUT TOOTH
When dealing with a knocked-out tooth, do the
following steps Only touch the crown of the
tooth, not the root. Gently rinse it. It should
not be washed, scrubbed, or dried. If possible,
replace it in the open socket. Keep the tooth in
milk if the above step isn't possible. Visit us
as soon as possible. The sooner we can get to
your lost tooth, the better we will be able to
treat it.

SOFT TISSUE DAMAGE
Soft tissues in the mouth include the lips,
gums, the inside of the cheeks, and the tongue.
If one of these structures is damaged, contact
us for further instructions. Lacerations,
punctures, and rips in soft tissue should be
washed with warm water before applying pressure
to stop the bleeding.

Regardless of severity, if you have chipped or
fractured a tooth or dental work, it should be
corrected at some point. However, the urgency of
your emergency dental needs will be determined by
the depth of the chip or fracture.
The inner tissues of your teeth are extremely
delicate and easily infected or damaged. If they
have been exposed, you should come to our office
as soon as possible.
