1
A Quick Guide to Different Weaves of Cotton
Sheets
  • Aster Parker is a premium quality organic cotton
    sheets
  • These sheets are GOTS Certified, Fair Trade
    Certified and
  • Certified Non-Toxic and fulfills Oeko-Tex
    Standard 100 also.

- The feel of your sheets is affected by the
materials you use.- However, how the fabric is
woven will affect how strong, soft or thick it
is. - You should pay attention to the thread
count and material and consider the weave.

Percale
  1. Cotton is used to make percale sheets.
  2. They have one yarn over and one yearns below.
  3. This creates a crisp, matte finish.
  4. These sheets are great for warm weather and hot
    sleepers.
  5. These sheets are not wrinkle-resistant, so be
sure to take them out of the dryer as soon as you
    finish the cycle.

4
Sateen
  • Although sateen sheets look similar to satin
sheets, they should not be confused.
  • Satin weaves (one under, three above) are used to
    create sateen sheets.
  • However, yarn is used instead of filament fibers.
Despite the material difference, sateen sheets
can be just as elegant and smooth as satin.
  • These sheets are more durable than percale
sheets, but they are also more suitable for
colder weather and sleepers who prefer them.

5
Twill
  • An over-two, under-two pattern distinguishes
twill weaves from the distinctive diagonal
    design.
  • It is also wrinkle-resistant due to its
    thickness.
  • While woven sheets with a twist are more
susceptible to shrinking than sheets made from
sateen, they are often more affordable.

6
Dobby
  • Dobby weaves can be made on a dobby-loom.
  • They have small stripes or geometric patterns.
  • Because the shapes of the weave (e.g., squares,
diamonds, or dots) have a slightly raised feel,
they create more texture than other weaves.
  • Thick stripes are the most popular design for bed
    sheets.
