Buddha idol. This act of worship is significant

of Buddha Purnima can be traced back to 2500 BC
when Lord Buddha was born in Lumbini forest
located in Nepal. In his life, he spent almost 29
years on earth before he attained nirvana at the
age of 80 years old.

day in the month of Magh (Vesak), which falls
on April 8 this year. It is also marked as a
festival of peace and harmony. - People celebrate it by offering food and
flowers to monks as part of their custom to mark
the birth anniversary of Buddha brass idol. - The most important aspect of this day is that
it is considered as a festival of peace and
harmony among all religions.

to pray for peace, prosperity and happiness among
human beings and also to seek forgiveness from
their ancestors who were kind enough to donate
their wealth or property during that period when
they were alive but could not receive any
blessings due to some reasons such as old age or
illness etc., hence they prayed for blessings
from their ancestors at this auspicious occasion
so that they could get good health, wealth and
prosperity after death.
