The name "polycarbonate" comes from synthetic
glue that joins polymer units using carbonate
groups. It is a rigid, adaptable thermoplastic
material that is also lightweight and mouldable.
It shares many of the same characteristics as
glass and plastic intended for construction, but
without being as stiff, delicate, or heavy. As a
result, polycarbonate is among the engineered
thermoplastics with essential global utilisation.
Sri Ramana Enterprises, Polycarbonate sheet
distributors in Coimbatore, focuses on providing
the best-quality sheets for more prolonged use
for various applications.
  • Characteristics of polycarbonate sheets-
  • Malleability
  • Unlike other varieties of plastic that can break
under stress and with excessive use,
polycarbonate sheets can be formed for any use
    and application without sacrificing their
strength. Polycarbonate sheets can therefore be
used for several tasks, such as installing
    windows and roofing projects.

3
  • Lightweight material
  • Polycarbonate sheets are lightweight and simple
to move and transport from any place.
  •
  • Natural lighting and transparency
  • Polycarbonate is transparent, like plastic and
glass, allowing for passaging natural light.
    Therefore, polycarbonate is an excellent
substitute in places where natural lighting is
    strongly

4
  • Impact resistance
  • Polycarbonate sheets are sturdy and long-lasting
despite being so light. Glass is significantly
heavier than polycarbonate, making it easier to
    move between locations. However, because
polycarbonate is much stronger than Glass, it
cannot break. Because of its lightweight and
impact resilience, polycarbonate is an excellent
material for eyewear and bulletproof windows in
    high-risk environments like banks.
  • Heat-resistant
  • Besides being heat-resistant, polycarbonate can
be used with other flame-retardant materials
losing none of their tensile strength or
    structural integrity. Polycarbonate is an
excellent material for many engineering and
construction projects that call for working
outdoors in warm weather with powerful machinery
that can overheat because of its heat resistance.

5
  • Durability
  • As previously noted, polycarbonate is solid and
suitable for all uses. It is nearly unbreakable
on construction sites since it is 250 times more
robust than glass and plastic. In addition,
polycarbonate is frequently used to shield
buildings and their contents from extreme weather
such as strong winds, rain, snow, and hail
because it has a high impact resistance rating.
  • Easy installation
  • Installation of polycarbonate is quick and
simple. The sheets may be easily mounted thanks
to the included hardware and can be easily cut
and moulded to fit inside any frame or support.
  • These are some characteristics and applications
    of polycarbonate sheets. Polycarbonate sheet
suppliers in Chennai are in demand because of the
increasing usage of sheets. Sri Ramana
    Enterprises makes the availability of
    polycarbonate sheets for our customers.
