What is the difference between Mechanical and
Hydraulic Press?
  • The press is used to shape and form a variety
    material. This machine can be used to perform
    many metal tasks, including stamping, forging and
    die -cutting.
  • It can be classified into two types

  • Mainly, mechanical presses are fast for
    production while hydraulic press machine offer
    greater flexibility and can be used for more
    complicated forming processes.

The working principle of Mechanical press
As the name implies, a mechanical press generates
its po wer mechanically. The crankshaft connects
the main motor to the flywheel, and the ram. The
motor is controlled by a clutch in mechanical
presses. The flywheel turns the crankshaft and
activates the pinion gear.
The main system is driven by the motor. Flywheels
store and transmit kinetic energy to the rest.
Flywheels with a greater mass will produce more
energy. This allows mechanical presses achieve
high production speeds. This is especially true
when working on flat or simple workpieces.
Easy setup and operation result in quick,
repeatable results. Mechanical presses don't
need hydraulic fluid to operate, so they are less
