Title: Dental Implants of Beverly Hills
1Dental Implants of Beverly Hills for a Better,
Brighter Smile for Life
A dental implant is a metal post that replaces
the root of a missing tooth. Dental Implants of
Beverly Hills have a process in which the root
of a tooth is replaced with a spiral metal post,
replacing damaged or missing teeth with
artificial teeth that look and function very
much like real teeth. By replacing the roots of
missing teeth, dental implants provide people
with the strength and stability they need to eat
all of their favorite foods while chewing with
ease. Dental implants are artificial roots that
are used to support the restoration of one or
more missing teeth, helping to stop or prevent
the loss of jawbone. An artificial tooth (crown)
is placed over a post extension (abutment) on a
dental implant, giving you the appearance of a
real tooth. Next, a root implant of the tooth,
which is a small titanium pin, is inserted into
the bone socket of the missing tooth. Once the
root implant of the tooth has connected to the
jawbone, a small connecting pin, called an
abutment, is attached to the post to securely
hold the new tooth. As it heals, the jawbone
grows around the root implant, holding it firmly
to the jawbone. Basically, dental implants are
small titanium posts/devices that are inserted
into the jawbone, onto which single crowns
(caps), fixed bridges, partial or complete
dentures can be fixed. Implants are metal screws
placed in the jawbone to hold and support
artificial teeth (dentures). A dental implant
(also called an intraosseous implant or fixture)
is a surgical component that interacts with the
bones of the jaw or skull to support false teeth,
such as crowns, bridges, dentures, facial
prostheses , or for orthodontic maintenance.
2High success rate (over 97 over 10 years)
Reduced risk of caries and endodontic problems in
adjacent teeth Better bone preservation in the
adental region Reduced sensitivity in adjacent
teeth A dental implant is a structure consisting
of implanted alloplastic materials in oral
tissues under the mucosa or periosteum and/or
within or through bone to provide retention and
support for a fixed or removable denture.
Implants preserve the integrity of the teeth
adjacent to the edentulous area, and dental
implant therapy has been shown to be less
expensive and more time-efficient than
tooth-supported FPD to replace a missing tooth.
Your dentist may recommend implants for
permanent or removable bridges and dentures. It
is possible to place implants under existing
dentures to help stabilize and support those
dentures. Implant-retained dentures may be your
best option if you are missing most or all of
your teeth in one of your dental arches (upper
or lower). If you're embarrassed by missing
teeth, uncomfortable dentures, or don't want to
remove good tooth structure to make a bridge,
talk to your dentist to see if dental implants
are right for you. If endodontic surgery doesn't
save your tooth and it needs to be removed, you
should consider dental implants, which allow you
to bite and chew correctly, prevent healthy
tooth movement, and help maintain a natural
appearance. To implant a tooth, your dentist
will make a new tooth for you, called a crown.
Single tooth restorations are self-contained,
self-contained units that are not related to
other teeth or implants and are used to replace
a single missing tooth. A patented treatment that
primarily involves replacing all missing teeth
in one jawbone with just 4 implants. Because
implants are so strong, one implant can replace
multiple teeth if they are glued together. The
advantage of implant-supported bridges is the
ability to safely replace multiple missing teeth
in succession without having to replace each
tooth. The downside is that not all teeth will
receive implants, so you will lose some bone
mass. This type of implant is generally an
alternative for patients currently wearing
removable bridges or dentures. Subperiosteal
implants are commonly used for patients who
cannot wear conventional prostheses and do not
have sufficient bone height to support an
intraosseous implant. There are several reasons
why your dentist may recommend subperiosteal
implants
3over the more commonly used endosseous implants.
In fact, implants are more commonly used in
patients who wear complete or partial
dentures. Dental implants are used in
orthodontic patients to replace missing teeth (as
above) or as a temporary anchoring device (TAD)
to facilitate orthodontic movement with
additional fixation points. During the healing
phase, temporary dentures can be made to replace
missing teeth for aesthetic purposes.
Osseointegration requires varying amounts of
healing time before cementing a denture (tooth,
bridge or restoration) to an implant or placing
an abutment containing a denture/crown. You
will return in a few weeks to install a permanent
abutment (connector) and a tooth on the implant.
The dentist will take an impression (cast) of
this abutment in the mouth and make the implant
crown to size. The implant crown is cemented or
screwed to this abutment in the mouth. After
healing for six months, the dentist will open a
screw made of titanium material and attach an
abutment (which contains a crown or tooth
analog). After just 6 months, a permanent set of
replacement teeth is installed and you can
finally return to your normal diet. If your
implant loosens or causes pain, tell your dentist
immediately. Dental implant surgery can offer a
welcome alternative to poorly fitting dentures or
bridges, and can offer an option where the lack
of natural tooth roots prevents dentures or
bridges from being built. Ultra short plateau
root form (PRF) or "ribbed" dental implants used
in areas that would otherwise require a sinus
lift or bone grafting. An orthodontic implant is
placed next to the teeth to act as an anchor
point where orthodontic appliances can be
attached. Dental Implants of Beverly Hills is
