1Get Rublev Colours Oil Paint Mediums
Rublev Colours Oil Paint Mediums change the
handling properties of paint flow out and
leveling tackiness and drag drying time, gloss,
transparency, and others.
2Oleogel
Oleogel is a thixotropic painting medium made
with linseed oil and pyrogenic silica that adds
transparency and thixotropic body to oil,
resin-oil or alkyd paint.
3Wilson's Medium
Wilson's Medium is based on the 18th century
medium developed by Richard Wilson, British
landscape painter and, according to Field, also
used by Joshua Reynolds. No driers or resins
added.
4Velazquez Medium
A paste medium of finely ground calcite in bodied
linseed oil. Use to extend paint and form
impastos while making paint longer. Softer than
Impasto Medium, Velázquez Medium makes colors
slightly transparent, allowing greater control
over tints without whites. Can be thinned with
solvent or oil. Solvent free.
5Rublev Colours Oil Mediums
Rublev Colours Oil Mediums are drying oils
(linseed or walnut) purified and then thickened
by exposure to sunlight and air until they are
thick and light-colored. They are then thinned
with spike oil, distilled spirits of gum
turpentine or odorless mineral spirits (OMS).
6Linseed Oil Sampler
Rublev Colours Linseed Oil Sampler offers
alternatives to oleoresinous mediums for painting
by offering a sampler of four linseed oil
products (2 fluid ounces each) to amend oil
colors and to prepare in emulsions with tempera.
7Walnut Oil
Walnut Oil is cold pressed from fresh dried
walnuts (Juglans regia), and lightly refined.
Yellows less than linseed oil, so it is good for
making pale oil colors and to make oil paint more
fluid. See more information below on the ways
to use Walnut Oil.
