What is a Routine Eye Exam?
A routine eye exam, as the name says, is the
procedure of getting your eyes checked by
professionals on a regular basis to make sure
that your eyes are healthy. Your eyes will be
examined for common eye disorders, your eye
coordination will be evaluated, and your overall
health will be assessed based on any symptoms
that arise from problems within or close to your
eyes. During the course of your eye exam, your
optometrist will perform a variety of tests to
look for any potential illnesses rather than just
calculating the prescription for your eyeglasses
or contact lenses.

WHO SHOULD GET AN EYE EXAM?
Eye exams are for all, especially in todays time
when we spend most of our time on digital
screens such as mobile phones, laptops and
television. Even if your eyesight is fine most
of the time, you should still have an eye checkup
once a year at the very least. Eye exams for
people with eye problems will help them keep
their prescriptions up to date and enable their
eye doctor to spot any eye disorders or other
issues affecting their vision. Laser eye surgery
may be advised to patients having refractive eye
disorders. Getting your kids' eyesight checked
can guarantee that there are no issues, and if
there are, your doctor can recommend timely
treatment.

CONCLUSION
The eyes are one of the most important body
organs. Hence, it is crucial to be very careful
about your eye health at all times. More often
than not, many eye and vision problems show no
indications or symptoms. This means that you
might not even realize there is a problem until
your eyesight starts to get worse. Therefore, it
is indispensable to get your eye exam conducted
at least once a year.
