WHERE TO EAT THE BEST FRENCH FOOD IN DUBAI
  • Whether it's haute cuisine, bistronomie or sweet
treats you're after, the UAE's abundance of fine
    French restaurants hits every mark.
  • From fine dining dishes with finesse to cosy
patisseries and bistros serving hearty French
    comfort food...
  • French food is a firm favourite across the city,
whether you're eating hearty, comforting dishes
like you're in the snow-capped mountains of the
Alps or tucking into freshly-caught seafood on
    the French.
  • From the classy to the cosy, weve rounded up the
    best French restaurants in Dubai.

3
Dubai's Bistro Des Arts
  • This rustic spot in Dubai Marina was founded by
two friends who had spent 10 years in the FB
industry and wanted to fill a market gap on
relaxed home-style French cooking. It's the ideal
place to quietly catch up with a friend over a
glass of grape chosen from a chalkboard
selection. The cosy eatery serves comforting fare
such as beef cheek croquettes, devilled eggs with
home-made mayo, and Old Comté cheese puffs, as
well as less common dishes such as sautéed frog
legs and, on Sundays, braised rabbit. Their
hand-cut steak tartare is one of the best in
town. Sit out on the terrace in good weather for
a convivial neighbourhood atmosphere as people
    stroll along the marina.

Dubai, Bleu Blanc
  • Celebrity chef David Myers leads this spot in
Business Bay that overlooks the Dubai Water Canal
from the Renaissance Downtown Hotel. The quaint
French-Mediterranean atmosphere is hard not to
sink into after opting for a rustic Provençal
look - wooden floors, lots of pretty blue
accents, and a curtain of hanging wooden spoons.
The restaurant's focal point is a massive
wood-fired grill from which fragrant dishes such
as roasted baby chickens with yoghurt and za'atar
and lamb kebabs with Provence herbs emerge.
Plateaux de fruits de mer come in two sizes and
include scallops, prawns, oysters, and more,
while the basil-pesto ravioli is straightforward,
allowing the fresh ingredients to shine.

Cafe de Paris, Dubai
  • Café de Paris reflects the image of Paris, a
place of conviviality and gentle living where
everyone finds their place, and is a testament to
the Parisian art of living that is the envy of
the world. It represents one of the most
important aspects of French food culture and is a
part of a new generation of chic and contemporary
brasseries that provide quality service with a
    charming décor!
  • A testament to the Parisian art of living that is
the envy of the world, the Cafe de Paris reflects
the image of Paris, which never ceases to
innovate and reinterpret itself, a place of
conviviality and gentle living where everyone
    finds their place.

6
Bord Eau, Abu Dhabi
  • This aristocratic-style restaurant in the
Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri is one of the
capital's favourite for a special occasion.
    Despite the floor-to-ceiling windows that
overlook the Grand Mosque across the waterway,
the room maintains a cosy atmosphere with a small
but thoughtful menu. The dishes lean toward the
traditional but stand out with high-quality
ingredients and modern twists, assisting Bord Eau
in earning numerous awards over the years. Crispy
Atlantic octopus with smoked potato and milk-fed
veal rack with organic spelt cooked in carrot
juice are two dishes to try.

7
Dubai's Brasserie du Park
  • When it comes to taking over Traiteur's Creekside
spot at the Park Hyatt Dubai, Brasserie du Park
rises to the occasion. The menu is simple and
traditional, fitting for its more relaxed vibe,
which is visually inspired by seaside Deauville -
a bright space with lots of geometric white
details and royal-blue banquettes, making it feel
stylish and low-key. The menu is inspired by
Normandy brasserie cuisine, with a focus on
seafood, cheese-stuffed galettes, and pitchers of
Bordeaux grape. The sea bass en croûte (whole
fish baked in a salt crust) is delectably moist
due to being cooked in a puff pastry shell, and
it adds a touch of flair when presented and cut
    tableside.

8
Carine from Dubai
  • If "bistro chic" was the brief, chef Izu Ani's
French-Med-inspired Carine in Emirates Golf Club,
with views over the course, nailed it. Natural
light floods the open-plan space, which is offset
by dark bentwood chairs, a mix of brass-trimmed
or mosaic-topped tables, and pale-green leather
banquettes. The menu is simple and modern, with
standout dishes such as freshly baked bread to
dip in Ani's own Greek olive oil. The sea-bream
ceviche, for example, is sprinkled with
pomegranate seeds and slices of red onion and
chilli. The tenderly grilled marinated veal strip
loin is divine. For dessert, abandon tradition
and try the passionfruit cheesecake for a
    mouthful of zingy flavours.

9
Couqley, Dubai
  • Dubais Jumeirah Lakes Towers has a healthy
number of tucked-away restaurant gems. This
French bistro, under the Mövenpick Hotel but
accessible by a stairway from the parking lot, is
one of them. Divided into areas the bar, the
dining room, the indoor terrace, private dining
it feels intimate no matter where youre sitting,
yet still buzzing as its always full. Some are
here for the well-priced grape and a cheese
board, others for the lures of the unfussy menu.
You might start with the tuna tartare or the goat
cheese and tomato-confit tart, but leave room for
the varieties of beef, a focus here.
