3What is private 5G?
- Private 5G refers to a mobile network that is
technically the same as a public 5G network, but
which allows the owner to provide priority access
or licensing for its wireless spectrum. - It is a local area network that uses 3GPP-based
network spectrum, to create unified connectivity
and a secure means of communication within a
specific area. Â - Reduced latency and increased reliability makes
private 5G especially interesting for industrial
applications
4SCOPE OF 5G
Fifth-generation wireless (5G) is the latest
iteration of cellular technology. With 5G, data
transmitted over wireless broadband connections
can travel at multigigabit speeds, with potential
peak speeds as high as 20 gigabits per second
(Gbps) by some estimates. These speeds exceed
wireline network speeds and offer latency of 1
millisecond (ms) or lower for uses that require
