Amana is an American manufacturer of household
appliances. The company founded by George
Foerstner in 1934 in Middle Amana. When it began,
it manufactures commercial walk-in coolers under
the Electrical Equipment Co. Later, Amana
Society owned this business and then became as
Amana Refrigeration Inc. Now, Whirlpool
Corporation acquired the company. Over the
years, Amana has expanded their business through
producing various appliances such as air
conditioners, ovens, furnaces, countertop ranges,
dryers, hoods, washing machines, dishwashers,
heating, and cooling products and others. In
addition to these, it offers filters and
accessories like water filters, air cleaners,
etc. In 1997, Goodman Global has purchased the
company. The Amana major appliance and commercial
microwave business were sold to Maytag
Corporation in 2001. Still, Amana's furnace and
air conditioner division work under Goodman and
other appliances are marketed by the Whirlpool
Corporation. Amana Appliance Parts will help the
