Overview of East Africa Medical Oxygen Market
  • The East Africa Medical Oxygen market was valued
at 22.31 Million in 2019 and is expected to
reach 39.90 Million by 2027, growing at a CAGR
of 7.69 during the forecast period.
  • Medical Oxygen is a gas that people either inhale
or exhale, used for maintaining adequate levels
    of oxygen in the blood.
  • Medical Oxygen is a form of life-saving gas that
is used to provide patients with enough oxygen to
survive. It is not the same as air since it has
higher concentrations of oxygen and different
levels of other gases. The first use of medical
oxygen was by Karl von Drais de Sauerbronn in
1842 who introduced it as a means to treat
patients with a respiratory problem called
    asphyxia.

  • Medical Oxygen is essential for hospital
    operations, emergencies, and other inhospitable
situations in which the use of portable
respiratory equipment may be crucial for
survival. What makes medical oxygen so important
is that without it, breathing takes longer and
becomes more difficult because there is not
enough oxygen in the bloodstream to form the
    right balance with carbon dioxide.
  • A person breathes oxygen in and out of their
lungs. Oxygen enters the lungs because it is more
concentrated close to the ground than in the air.
The lungs take up oxygen from the air, water and
food by osmosis. Oxygen is then circulated
through blood vessels to all parts of their body
so that cells can do their work properly. This
    process is called respiration.Exhaling releases
carbon dioxide and water vapor into the
atmosphere while inhaling replaces these gases
    with fresh oxygen.

  • Oxygen is a chemical element with symbol O and
atomic number 8. It is a colorless odorless gas
that makes up about 21 of the atmosphere by
volume. Oxygen is vital for most aerobic
organisms to live and grow, such as humans and
fish. Oxygen is the third most common element in
the Earth's crust, after silicon and aluminum. It
is found dissolved in water, air, rocks, soil,
minerals and organic matter. Oxygen gas has long
been one of humanity's most important natural
    resources.
