Insert Molding
Insert molding, also known as overmolding, is a
manufacturing process in which a pre-formed
component, known as the insert, is placed in a
mold and then encapsulated with a second
material. This process allows the manufacturer to
combine multiple materials or add features to a
pre-existing component, such as a grip or a
threaded post, that would otherwise be difficult
or impossible to create through a single molding
process.
