Cholesterol
The body benefits from cholesterol in various
ways. It is a component of the membranes in the
cells. It also aids the production of hormones,
bile, and vitamin D in the body. Cholesterol is
essential. But having too much of it in the
blood increases the risk of developing heart
disease.
4
Risk Factors of Cholesterol
Heart attack
Chest Pain
Poor diet
Stroke
5
Poor diet
Eating too much saturated fat or trans fats can
result in unhealthy cholesterol levels.
Saturated fats are found in fatty cuts of meat
and full-fat dairy products. Trans fats are
often found in packaged snacks or desserts.
6
Stroke
  • The buildup of plaque caused by high cholesterol
can put you at serious risk of having the blood
supply to an important part of your brain reduced
or cut off. This is what happens when a stroke
    occurs.

7
Heart attack
If plaques tear or rupture, a blood clot can
form at the plaque-rupture site blocking the
flow of blood or breaking free and plugging an
artery downstream. If blood flow to part of your
heart stops, you'll have a heart attack.
8
Chest Pain
If the arteries that supply your heart with
blood (coronary arteries) are affected, you
might have chest pain (angina) and other
symptoms of coronary artery disease.
