INTRODUCTION

• Childhood is the susceptible phase where one is
  native and easily to exploitation. Owning to such
  manageable nature of a child it is pertinent to
  note that a special care and protection is to be
  awarded to the child.
• Children of the today are the future of tomorrow.
  Child belongs to the most vulnerable class of the
  Society, with no freedom to determine its future
  and depend ability on parents or family.
• The child labourer is deprived of education,
  health and strength that is essential for his/her
  growth. Poverty, migration, low family earning,
  social conditions etc,. drives a child to
  forcefully work in exploitative conditions.

• Children face a variety of challenges as they
  grow and develop. Some of these challenges are
  universal, while others are specific to certain
  cultures or individual circumstances.

Population of children

• According to UNICEF data, number of children in
  the World was 2.2 billion. They constitute about
  27 of Worlds population(8.06 billion).
• India has the largest number of children in the
  world with nearly 40 of its estimated 1.2
  billion population under the age of 18.

The children act 2004

• The Children Act 2004 of the Parliament of the
  United Kingdom. The Act amended the Children Act
  1989, largely in consequence of the Victoria
  Climbié inquiry. It reinforced that all people
  and Organizations working with children have a
  responsibility to help safeguard children and
  promote their welfare.
• The guidelines set out in this act allow for
  anyone working in an educational or
  non-educational setting and working with children
  to know how a child should be looked after in the
  eyes of the law.

• Education is essential for children's long-term
  success, and ensuring they have access to quality
  education is crucial. The safety and well-being
  of children should always be the top priority.
• They have access to adequate nutrition and
  healthcare, and supporting their emotional and
  social development. Children's physical health
  and well-being are critical to their long-term
  success.
• Promoting healthy habits and lifestyles may
  involve ensuring access to nutritious food,
  promoting physical activity and exercise, and
  providing resources.
• Children will face challenges throughout their
  lives, and it's important to help them develop
  the skills and resilience they need to
  overcome obstacles.

• Childhood should be carefree, playing in the
