What is Endometriosis?

• Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar
  to the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows
  outside of the uterus, commonly on other organs
  in the pelvis such as the ovaries, fallopian
  tubes, and pelvic sidewall. This misplaced tissue
  responds to hormonal changes during the menstrual
  cycle just like the lining of the uterus, and can
  cause inflammation, pain, and scarring.

  symptoms at all. However, the most common
  symptoms of endometriosis include

• The treatment of endometriosis depends on the

  and the woman's desire to have children in the
  future. The goals of treatment are typically to
  relieve pain, slow the growth of the endometrial
  tissue, and improve fertility. Some common
