Title: It's Time to Expand Your Electroless Nickel Plating Options
1It's Time to Expand Your Electroless Nickel
Plating Options The deposit of nickel-alloy
coatings through chemical reduction is known as
"nickel autocatalytic coatings." It can happen
even without an electric current. Most of the
electroless nickel plating in Dubai has a nickel
phosphorous deposit of 2 to 14 phosphorous and
is used for engineering purposes. With higher
phosphorous, the corrosion resistance can be
increased. But if you compromise on phosphorous
content, it results in a decrease in
hardness. ENP is formed when nickel ions are
reduced to metallic nickel using sodium
hypophosphite, a chemical reducing agent. They
have a common thickness of around 25-75m.
However, the high phosphorous ENP edges above 75
m, which pushes its limits. Advantages of
ENP Electroless nickel plating in Dubai from Al
Faizan Metal Coatings offers impeccable corrosion
resistance to corrosives like carbon dioxide,
salt water, hydrogen sulphide, and oxygen. The
high phosphorous deposits (10-14 phosphorous)
can be amorphous, and there are no phase or grain
boundaries, creating initiation sites for
corrosion. The uniformity of electrolytic
deposits versus ENP is advantageous and creates a
thin coating uniformly across the entire
substrate, like holes, slots, and inside walls of
the tubing. The high-phosphorous ENP without heat
treatment offers wear resistance and the best
hardness properties. It is an economical solution
for applications subjected to conditions like
corrosion and wear. Consequently, this can extend
the service life and provide an affordable
alternative to corrosion-resistant alloys when
carbon steel undergoes weld corrosion, flange
attack, and localized corrosion.
2Factors affecting the plating quality
Machined surfaces with burrs, uneven metal
surfaces, or cold shut has to be plated
effectively. The surfaces should be free
from specks of dirt, oils, and soaps formed by
the saponification of oils. Nickel ion
concentration, pH, temperature, and hypophosphite
concentration has to be managed to get the
premium plating finish. Contact details Shahul
