Getting Started with Your Kalita Wave
The first step is making sure your setup is
correct. Start by filling your Kalita Wave with
hot water and letting it sit for 30 seconds.
This will help preheat your brewing vessel and

water and place a filter into the brewer. When

Grinding Dosing Your Coffee Beans
Next, you will need to grind your beans and dose
them properly into the filter. For this
particular brewing method, we recommend using
medium-fine ground coffee (similar to table
salt). Make sure you measure out about 18 grams
of ground coffee for every 8 ounces of water you
plan on using this should yield roughly 2
tablespoons of ground beans per 8 ounces of
water. Place these grounds in an even layer over
top of your filter paper and give it a gentle
shake to settle them in place.

Brewing Pouring Your Coffee

start brewing! Begin by pouring 50g (roughly 1/4
cup) of hot water evenly over all of the grounds
in small circles. Wait approximately 30 seconds
before pouring another 100g (roughly 1/2 cup) of
water onto your grounds using circular motions

grounds are saturated evenly throughout each
pour cycle. After pouring, wait another 45-60
seconds before beginning your final pour cycle
this should take between 60-90 seconds total
depending on how much coffee you are making at
once. Once finished, remove your filter from the
brewer and give it a gentle shake over top of a
drain or sink to release any excess liquid if
necessary. Finally, pour yourself an amazing cup
of coffee and enjoy!
