Char Dham Yatra
  • The Char Dham Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage in
Hinduism that involves visiting four revered
shrines located in the Uttarakhand state of
India. The Char Dham sites are Yamunotri,
Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. It is
believed that undertaking this pilgrimage helps
cleanse one's soul and attain spiritual
enlightenment. Here is a brief overview of each
    of the Char Dham sites.

Char Dham Yatra
  • Yamunotri
  • Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River and
is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. The main
attraction is the Yamunotri Temple, where
pilgrims take a holy dip in the hot water springs
called Surya Kund before offering prayers. The
trek to Yamunotri involves a scenic route through
    lush mountains and beautiful valleys.

Char Dham Yatra
  • Gangotri
  • Gangotri is the source of the sacred River Ganges
and is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The Gangotri
Temple is the main shrine here, and it is
believed that taking a dip in the holy waters of
the Ganges at Gangotri can wash away sins. The
temple is surrounded by majestic snow-covered
peaks, making it a breathtaking sight.

Char Dham Yatra
  • Kedarnath
  • Kedarnath is home to one of the 12 Jyotirlingas
(a representation of Lord Shiva) and is located
at an altitude of around 3,583 meters. The
Kedarnath Temple, nestled amidst the stunning
    Himalayan ranges, holds immense religious
significance. Pilgrims have to undertake a trek
of about 16 kilometers from Gaurikund to reach
    the temple.

Char Dham Yatra
  • Badrinath
  • Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one
of the holiest sites in Hinduism. The Badrinath
Temple is the main attraction, and it is believed
to be a crucial part of the Char Dham Yatra.
Surrounded by lofty mountains and situated on the
banks of the Alaknanda River, Badrinath offers a
    serene and spiritual atmosphere.
