What is considered a board book?
A board book is a type of children's book that is
designed specifically for young children,
typically infants and toddlers. What sets board
books apart from regular picture books or
storybooks is their construction and
durability. Board books are made with thick,
sturdy cardboard pages. This makes them more
resistant to wear and tear, as well as less prone
to damage from little hands that might be less
gentle than those of older children. The pages
are often coated or laminated, which makes them
easy to clean if they get dirty. Additionally,
the pages are usually smaller in size than
traditional picture books, which makes them
easier for young children to handle and
turn. These books are known for their simple,
colorful illustrations, large and clear text, and
often cover topics that are relevant and engaging
for very young children, such as shapes, colors,
animals, and basic concepts. The content is
tailored to the developmental stage and attention
span of infants and toddlers. Overall, board
books are designed to be a durable and
interactive way to introduce young children to
reading and to encourage their early literacy
skills.

Snow dream. Carl Eric.
Once upon a time there was a farmer. And he had 5
pets. In order not to be confused, he called them
that One, Two, Three, Four, Five. Once, it was
already approaching the New Year, the farmer
suddenly realized that the snow had not yet
fallen. What is the New Year without snow? And no
gifts? And no congratulations? And without Santa
Claus? The wonderful American artist and author
of many children's books, Eric Karl, once again
invented and drew a simple story that won and
will win many children's hearts. Well, what is so
incredible about a fairy tale about how snow
suddenly fell on the farm overnight, and the
farmer dressed up as Santa Claus and gave gifts
to his animals?

Piglet Peter and the car. Ludmila Petrushevskaya
Once upon a time there was a pig Peter. He
decided to build a car. To do this, he went into
the room and sat down on a chair there. But then
Piotr the pig realized that something was
missing. What the child lacks in order to start
the game was best understood by the writer,
poetess, playwright Lyudmila Petrushevskaya and
artist Alexander Reichshtein. Their book very
accurately describes how the imagination works a
pot lid and a stool turn into a car in a second,
pebbles into sweets, leaves into money, a tractor
into an airplane - and so on ad infinitum.

Happy New Year Karlchen! Berner Rotrout Suzanne
"Happy New Year, Carlchen!" is already the eighth
cardboard book about Karlhen the hare and his
family. Karlchen is very fond of celebrating the
New Year. He is looking forward to the evening
when there will be a festive table, a Christmas
tree and, of course, gifts from Santa Claus. But
what if Santa Claus does not arrive? What if he
couldn't find their home in the dark and land his
flying sled in the snowy yard? Fortunately,
Karlchen knows how to show Santa Claus the way to
his house and save the holiday.
