  • The freedom of speech and expression that is at
the heart of democracy is embodied in our
    cultural institutions.
  • What exactly is creative freedom? According to
UNESCO, it is the ability to develop, produce,
    and disseminate various cultural expressions
without intervention from the government, the
political system, or non-state actors. It is
crucial for the health of societies and involves
everyone's right to access these works.

Throughout history, censorship and oppression
have been issues for artists and
innovators. However, one of the few channels
through which we can peacefully demand our
rights and freedom and advocate for change is
through different forms of art like shadow art,
context art in Miami and other regions. The only
thing that can be said with certainty is that
there is a highly intricate link between art and
behaviour. Since the dawn of time, violent and
graphic sexual content has been a mainstay of
human societies. These motifs, which many human
behavioralists see as acting as a vicarious
outlet for personal violence, serve a beneficial
and positive social function.
4
Freedom of expression and the power of art are
inextricably linked. Art has the ability to defy
expectations, effect change, and provide voice to
underrepresented groups. Artists like McKay
Otto, Parish Kohanim frequently produce art
addressing themes like inequality, injustice,
and prejudice that are otherwise overlooked or
misunderstood. These pieces of art have the
power to incite discussion and draw attention to
pressing societal concerns. Expression rights are
essential human rights. It enables people to
express their thoughts, ideas, and opinions
without worrying about negative consequences.
The freedom of speech has long been a difficult
topic in the realm of art.
5
Governments, people, or organizations with
diverse interests could not agree with what an
artist has to say in their work, which could
result in censorship, a ban, or injury to the
artist. Denying artists the freedom to express
themselves is not only harmful to the arts and
to the creative community, but it also restricts
society's potential to advance and solve its
problems through the arts. In order to maintain
freedom of speech in society, the role of
artists is crucial. It is their duty to develop
and generate information that challenges
misconceptions and views while increasing public
awareness of problems.
6
You shouldn't take this obligation lightly. In
addition to being visually appealing, art should
also effectively communicate ideas and concepts
to its audience and engage them in conversation.
It's possible that not everyone will be in the
audience in fact, art is not meant to appeal to
everyone's tastes. The purpose of art is to make
people think critically about their own values
and views in society. Many of the artists
represented at todays art galleries continue to
question cultural expectations and prejudices
while advocating for justice and change in our
fallen world. Art is not objective it has the
capacity to elicit debate and force us to
reexamine our convictions.
