License Description To receive a Lead Abatement
Inspector certification, an applicant must first
have a high school diploma or equivalent level of
education and taken and passed a lead training
course from one of the approved providers. After
meeting these requirements, a Certified Lead
Professional application should be submitted to
the Michigan Department of Health and Human
Services along with the initial fee (175 to
250). Finally, the state exam must be taken
within 6 months of successfully passing the
