  • The global single cell protein market is

    yeast, bacteria, haematococcus, Dunaliella,
    bacteria, spirulina, chlorella, and others. Among
    these, the yeast segment accounted for a market
    share of more than 350 kilo tons in 2021, in
    terms of volume. Yeast-based SCPs are extracted
    from food waste, byproducts derived from alcohol
    or hydrocarbon manufacturing, and wood shavings.
    The product is steadily finding application in
    animal feed products. A recent study suggests
    that baker's yeast can be used as a probiotic to
    boost immune responses and growth performance in
    freshwater catfish.
  • The market is categorized into equine, swine,
    cattle, aquaculture and poultry feed. The cattle
    feed segment is projected to expand at a CAGR of
    more than 5 through 2030 owing to the growing
    use of enzymes to enhance productivity and lower
    the per pound cost of meat. Surging demand for
    milk and dairy products will propel the need for
    high-quality feed for cattle.
