• It involves conversion processes of oil and gas
  in to the finished product.
• Downstream includes refining crude oil into
  gasoline, natural gas liquids, diesel, and
  various other energy sources.
• This is the stage where profit is made between
  crude oil and refined products.

FORMATION OF OIL AND GAS

• First dead plants accumulate and form strata.
• They then transform into rocks that have the
  potential to produce oil/natural gas.
• Under conditions of high pressure and
  temperature, kerogen changes into oil and natural
  gas.
• Oil and natural gas then accumulate.
