Land The location must be strategic, you must
check the level of the land in reference to
nearest road level, Soil Strata, Ground water
level and road network available.
Layout The layout must be professionally planned,
considering factors such as vehicle movement,
parking area, utility space and drainage system
must be mapped out.
The project schedule must be translated into a
GANTT chart, material inspection must be done
prior to dispatch, place of unloading loading
materials must be pre planned and make sure
your PEB vendor follows best erection practices.
Building Identify the wind corridor, Size must
be optimised, Finalise machine layout, Load
calculations must be done at design stage. You
must be cautious of the factors such as No. of
air exchanges per hour, heat, light requirement,
no. of openings, expansion plan, etc.
Civil Foundation Drainage work must be done prior
to the civil foundation work. Dont an old
civil foundation. Be cautious of the Soil

16Primary Framing Members
Primary members are the main steel frames of PEB.
The main frames include columns, rafters, crane
beams, mezzanine beams and other supporting
members. The sections are fabricated with High
strength steel plates using the state-of-the-art
manufacturing technology. The application and
requirement determines the shape and size of
these members.
Members
Secondary Framing Members are the structural
members which carry loads to the primary framing
members. Secondary structural framing refers to
C sections and Z sections, Grits, Eave struts,
Wind bracing, Flange bracing, Base angles, Clips
and other miscellaneous structural parts.
Standing Seam
Systems
Screw Down Sheeting Method Roof and wall
cladding are formed by cold rolling metal sheet
ranging between 0.5 to 0.7mm thick in bending
press machine. They are used to provide shelter
and support from wind pressure and live
load. Standing Seam Sheeting method It is
connected indirectly by forming clips into the
seam. Steel roof is coated with zinc-aluminuim
alloy, it is available in two grades with
tensile strength of 345 MPA 550 MPA.

17Mezzanine Systems
It consists of a steel deck with a varying
thickness between 0.5 to 1mm supported by steel
joists, Steel joists acts as a secondary menbers,
connected to main primary beams. Main beams are
connected to the mainframe columns or
intermediate column, based on the load span,
which transfer the load to the foundation.
Crane Systems
Crane systems are required in manufacturing
buildings that require running crane, underhung
crane, Monorail Crane and jib Crane. The most
commonly adopted is the top running crane system.
Facias are used for aesthetic appearance. A
variety of fascias either straight or inclined
can be provided. They are cantilivered from the
main frame coloumns in the sidewall from the
wind columns on the end wall.
Canopies
Canopies are narrow roof systems that provide
various functions such as a shade to block
direct sunlight on the building walls, an
extended cover to protect the buildings against
the rain, and a cover at entrances of the
buildings or adjacent to the walls for car
parking.

Selects a vendor who provides the cheapest
price. Only shares the dimensions of the

low weight structure without being concerned
about the stability of the structure. Directly
convert steel prices to arrive at the
estimate. Not too much bothered about the GA
Drawings. Demands fast erection and doesn't care

handing over facilities. Does not maintain a
relationship with the vendor.
Selects a vendor who understands PEB as a
solution, and provides the best quality without
being too expensive. Understands land selection,
overall layout, and ground water drainage then
asks for an estimate. Demands an optimum

22What will ensure that PEB roofs do not leak?
Leaking roof is the most common problem faced in
metal buildings. You must understand the root
cause of this annoying problem. We have learned
about these problems through our years of
experience in the PEB industry.
Another area very prone to leakes in the roof is
the gets disturbed due to the movement around
the leakages. So it is a wise decision to
consider replacing worn or keep your building
dry.

Use good quality sealants that lasts longer
period of time.
We always recommend using system as it is screw
less so there is no chance of leakage. - bonate
sheets turbo ventilators should be matching
with the original roof sheet properly.
fasteners is recommended as after the
chamber red rust and thus there is no leakage
due to rusting of the fasteners.

The quality of the paint used in PEB is perhaps
the most ignored factor which results in a lot
of damage. Inorder to avoid being in trap of your

27What are the green building practices of your
PEB vendor?
- Pre Engineered Building Teachnique evolving steel
as a primary material has emerged into green
sustainable alternative to conventional - building practices. The key features that makes
PEBs Green Buildings are- - Use of steel is optimised as per the structural
analysis as a - vendor ensures you an optimum use of steel to
prevent wastage of universal resource. - There is comparatively less pollution waste
produced while construction of a PEB. As all the
members are manufactured - in controlled environment as per engineering
standards in a - Structural Steel used in Pre Engineered Buildings
can be steel to your vendor. - The use of electricity is reduced by innovation
and engineering. Your vendor must provide proper
ventilation to save cooling costs and at the
same time they must give opening for entrance of
the sunlight in the building. Additionally
insulation is - roof wall systems with galvalume steel coat to
provide thermal insulation minimise heat
transfer.
