• Steel making Iron ore is put in an oxygen
  furnace. The combination of oxygen and carbon in
  iron eliminates carbon dioxide. Then, the iron is
  passed through an electric arc furnace to refine
  it further. 
• Continuous Casting The molten metal mix is cast
  in a mold with a predetermined length.

• Thermo-mechanical Treatment This is the most
  crucial step during the manufacture of TMT bars.
  This mechanical process includes
• Deforming an object
• Changing its size and shape
• Compression
• Forging 
• Rolling
• Hot Cold Rolling The steel is rolled into its
  final shape and size in the form of a reinforced
  bar.

Manufacturing TMT Bars

• Quenching The steel bars are put through a water
  cooling system. It decreases the temperature of
  the outer layer rapidly while the inner core is
  still soft.
• Tempering This process is done at the
  temperature of 100 degrees Celsius, which
  increases its strength and ductility.
• Atmospheric Cooling The bars are then left to
  cool down in special cooling beds, where the core
  gets converted into a ferrite-pearlite. After
  cooling fully, the TMT bar is a perfect
  combination of a strong outer layer and a ductile
  core.

How To Test The Quality Of The TMT Bar?

• It is very easy to check whether the TMT bars are
  of high quality. The steps to test the quality of
  the TMT bars are
• Put the bar in boiling water at 100 degrees for
  30 minutes.
• Let it cool down.
• Twist it at 157.5 degrees.
• Look for any cracks or ruptures.
