Australian Dental Council (ADC) Examinations
The ADC examination is a screening examination,
to establish that dentists trained in dental
schools, which have not been formally reviewed
and accredited by the ADC, have the necessary
knowledge and clinical competence to practice
dentistry.

Preliminary Examination
It is a written examination in multiple choice
format.
Sample multiple choice questions are provided,
for enrolled candidates.
Unlimited attempts are permitted for this
examination, but a new fee must be paid for each
attempt.
A pass is valid for three years.

Final Examination Clinical
To be eligible for final examination, you must
pass preliminary examination.
Unlimited attempts are permitted for this
examination, but it must be undertaken within
three years, of passing the preliminary
examination.
First attempt candidates will have priority over
repeat attempt candidate.

Eligibility
Candidates with minimum 4-year full-time
degree/diploma and who have held full and
unrestricted registration/licence are eligible.
