2Mobile C-arms are game changers. Thats because
they give you the ability to perform real-time,
high-resolution X-ray images without being
tethered to a fixed position. C-Arms are used in
a variety of ways. They can provide continuous
fluoroscopy, letting you view live images without
acquiring them. They are used for a variety of
procedures, allowing surgeons to make important
decisions. They can be used for pulsed
fluoroscopy, allowing the viewing of intermittent
live images that can ultimately reduce dose
during long procedures. They can also provide
higher dose, single or multiple image acquisition
which can be ideal in Digital Subtraction
Angiography.

3Mobile C-Arms are used in studies that requite
maximum positional flexibility. They can be used
in vascular and neurology procedures, cardiac
procedures and general surgery, including
orthopedic and urology procedures. Its
important to first determine which kind of C-Arm
fits your practice. Youll need to decide if you
need a C-Arm with a 9, 12 or 13 image
intensifier. The larger the image intensifier,
the more expensive the C-Arm.

4As a rule, a 9 image intensifier is perfect for
general surgery, orthopedic procedures and
urology procedures. Most come with the last image
hold (LIH), image printing, limited image storage
capacity and an export function. For cardiac
procedures, the 9 image intensifier is great,
however youll need a C-Arm system with high
image storage and high tube/generator capacity.

5If you perform neurology and vascular procedures,
a 12 C-Arm system is best because the larger
field of view allows you to see a larger part of
the body so you can perform the procedure in one
shot. This C-Arm should come with a larger tube,
larger generator capacity and larger image
storage. If you are going to perform contrast
imaging, youll also need Substruction and Road
Map options. While all types of C-Arms can be
used to perform general surgery, urology
procedures and orthopedic procedures, you will
need additional storage and capabilities for
vascular and cardiac exams.
