Jori Duran is a capital artist. She has been
working as a teacher, book illustrator for the
luxury editions Carrés d'Art (Paris) and as a
restorer of important works of art, like
Francisco de Goya paintings. Duran is a member of
the Academy Leonardo da Vinci in Rome, an
Honorary Member of the European Academy of Fine
Arts in Brussels. In her country, she was named,
Knight of the National Order of Merit, in 1974,
she got the 1st Prize of the National
competition, "Bordeaux and its Wines" and many
others awards and honors.
Alors que je me consacrais avec  passion à
létude du violon, la peinture  sest 
soudainement révélée à moi alors que jétais
encore très jeune, au hasard dune rencontre avec
une vieille dame, - Blanche Odin -, merveilleuse
aquarelliste, dont le talent ma immediatement
éblouie. Jai pris alors la difficile décision
dessayer à mon tour de me confronter à la toile
blanche. Autodidacte, la technique première est
venue progressivement. Très vite, une vision
fragmentée et quelque peu géométrique sest
emparée de mon regard sur toute chose. Peindre,
nest-ce pas voir différemment ? Lhumain sous
tous ses aspects demeure le coeur de mon oeuvre.
Quel que soit leur âge, les visages mhabitent
intensément  doù une peinture figurative qui
transmet la beauté morale  ou physique dun être,
dans son intégrité. La couleur est une fête de
loeil  je loffre en partage  aux spectateurs
de ma peinture, afin de tenter de leur apporter
joie et chaleur, en des temps parfois trop
gris. Peindre est un cheminement passionnant dans
la mesure où rien nest jamais parfait et où lon
passe sa vie à poursuivre cette perfection jamais
atteinte. Peut-être est-ce là le secret dun
certain bonheur?
