Manolo Valdés is a prominent Spanish painter
residing in New York. He worked in Valencia for a
few years until 1989 he travelled to New York
where he set up his studio and continued
experimenting with new forms of expression. He
also maintained a studio in Madrid for the
realization of large sculptures, alternating
creation in both cities. Manolo Valdés' work is
present in some of the most important museum
collections around the world, and has been
recognized with awards such as the Gold Medal of
Merit in Fine Arts and the National Medal of Fine
Arts. In 2007 he was appointed Officer of the
National Order of Merit by the President of the
French Republic

of the surface and uses more tactile materials.
The oil is applied in thick layers and other
materials appear such as string, burlap, bitumen,
linseed oil, adhesives of all kinds and this in a
wide range of natural pigments
