Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery is a 19th century
monastery built entirely of teak, painted red,
that today remains in full operation as school
and home for young novice monks and their
teachers

Nyaung Shwe is a small town popular with tourists
visiting Inle Lake. It consists of one main
thoroughfare with many side streets and just a
few parallel roads.. It also serves as a marina
for a lot of long boats carrying tourists into
Inle lake
