Delta Airlines has a comprehensive baggage policy
to ensure a smooth and comfortable travel
experience for all passengers. This policy covers
carry-on, checked, overweight, and oversized
baggage, as well as special considerations for
infants, children, and military/diplomatic
personnel.

Carry-on Baggage Allowance

Weight Limit
Passengers are allowed one personal item such as
a purse, laptop bag, or small backpack.
Passengers can bring one carry-on bag that fits
in the overhead bin, not exceeding 22 x 14 x 9
inches.
The total weight of the carry-on bag and personal
item must not exceed 40 pounds.

The first checked bag can be up to 50 pounds and
62 linear inches (length width height).
The second checked bag can be up to 50 pounds and
62 linear inches.
Additional checked bags may be subject to excess
baggage fees.

Bags exceeding 50 pounds will incur a fee of 100
per bag.

Infants
Infants traveling with an adult are allowed one
diaper bag and one fully collapsible stroller or
car seat at no additional charge.

Children 2 and older are allowed the same
carry-on and checked baggage allowance as adults.

Exceptions for Military and Diplomatic Personnel

Diplomats
Active duty military personnel are allowed extra
checked bags at no additional charge.
Diplomatic personnel may be eligible for
additional baggage allowances with proper
documentation.

Claims
Delta offers real-time baggage tracking to help
locate lost or delayed luggage.
Delta's liability for lost, damaged, or delayed
baggage is limited to 3,500 per passenger.
Passengers must file claims for lost or damaged
baggage within 21 days of travel.

Baggage Claim
Passengers must collect their checked bags from
the designated baggage claim area upon arrival.
Lost Baggage
If a bag is lost, passengers should immediately
report it to a Delta agent or the baggage service
office.
Damaged Baggage
Passengers should report any damaged bags to a
Delta agent before leaving the airport.
