PDF DOWNLOAD The High Mountains and other
humorous stories from the homestead A
collection of humorous short stories about
growing up with my four brothers on
the homestead. (This would be a great Fathers Day
gift or a book for any guy that laughs whenever
he remembers the things his brothers and friends
did when they were young.) I wanted to share
these stories with my grandchildren who may only
remember me as an old coot drooling in his
oatmeal. My wife says I shouldn't encourage
children to read the book because it will
quotgivthem ideasquot as if that's MY fault.
It's a clean book. Nothing inappropriate.The
book's prologue gives a little Michigan history
and family history as a backdrop for the stories
so you understand the context skip it if you hate
history.I realize memories can be inaccurate, and
I'm sure mine are also, somewhat, as difficult as
that is for me to believe. For what is a man,
except his memories wrapped in past choices and
decisions? I've tried to be as accurate as I can
as I look back and laugh at myself, while still
making the stories entertaining. Character quotes
cannot be exact but are true to what I recall, as
best I can remember. My brothers will probably
argue about exactly what was said and by whom,
but I console myself knowing their memories are
just as faulty as mine, whilst mine are
published. So there. To my brothers I would say,
these are my memories. Yours are no doubt
somewhat different than mine, and the older we
get the more they will probably differentiate
from the actual occurrences. So, I have written
mine down to help you remember yours correctly.
Once you read my accounting of our childhood
shenanigans, you will no doubt see the error of
your ways and memories.- Kent Eddy
