This is about Kisumu City, the epicenter of
Kenya's struggle for democracy. Many of
its citizens have shed blood of freedom and can

Established in 1901, and later its first town
council formed in mid 1940s, Kisumu has recorded
an impressive growth over the decades of its
existence. It is both a third largest city in
Kenya as well as the third largest lakeside City
in the wider lake Basin countries. It boasts of
two twin cities, in the USAs Virginia and
Colorado states. It has had two Governors, the
current one being a renowned prof Peter Anyang'
Nyong'o. The book is dedicated to the famous
Kondele fighters who have shed blood for every
gain Kenya has registered, as a result of
largely police brutality over the decades. The
first major bloodbath was in October 1969 when
Kenyatta's security opened gun fire and killed an
undeclared number of people but estimated to be
in their hundreds. This is also the city of many
firsts- which registered the FIRST ever African
Mayor- Alderman Mathews Omondi Ondiek, and
immediately thereafter, the first Woman Mayor,
Alderman Grace Akech Onyango Nyabungu.The book
