Melanie Lawrence, ED.S, is a dedicated advocate
for educational excellence and student success.
In her role as an RCE Advocate with the Minnesota
Department of Education, she consults with
schools and districts to provide expert guidance
in coaching, professional development, and
program implementation.

Melanie Lawrence-Smiths extensive experience
includes nineteen years as a classroom teacher
for grades 3-5 in Richfield Public Schools. In
2014, she transitioned to a Teacher on Special
Assignment (TOSA), where she played a key role in
developing the district's teacher-led evaluation
and professional development systems.

By 2017, Melanie Lawrence (Lakeville) advanced to
assistant principal at Richfield STEM Elementary,
overseeing more than 800 students and 70 staff
members.

Melanie Lawrence-Smiths academic achievements
include a Masters in Education from the
University of Minnesota and a K-12 Administration
Reading Endorsement from Concordia University,
both with a 4.0 GPA.

Melanie Lawrence (Lakeville) is skilled in
leading Professional Development, implementing
Professional Learning Communities, and training
educators in areas such as Equity and Restorative
Practices. She focuses on building organizational
capacity through effective collaboration and
