Vårberg Giants") has been selected by a jury as
the winning proposal for the Vårberg Art
Competition organized by Stockholm Konst and the
Stockholm City Executive Office. The
site-specific sculptures, are erected in
Stråkparken and Pelousen in the borough of
Vårberg, a southwest suburb of Stockholm, Sweden.

and measures 226 in length and has a beam of
72. The RAL 5015 can accommodate eight people
and was showcased at the Hôtel Marcel-Dassault in
Paris on May 27, remaining on display till June
1. It was put up for auction at Monte Carlo on
July 20 by Artcurial. It is expected to fetch
something between 180,000 to 200,000 (226,000
to 251,300)

59Xavier Veilhan (1963) is a French artist who
lives and works in Paris. His work
includes photography, sculpture, painting, film, a
nd installation art. After graduating from
the École nationale supérieure des Arts
décoratifs in Paris, Xavier Veilhan continues his
formation in Berlin at the Hochschule der Künste,
in the atelier of artist Georg Baselitz. He
returns to Paris to finish his studies in 1989 at
the Institut des hautes Etudes en Arts
plastiques. His work is multi-faceted,
encompassing sculpture, installation, painting
and photography, as well as hybrids of all of
these. He is also engaged in performance work and
filmmaking. He plays with the notions of the
generic, of the industrially produced object and
of universal representation, creating objects at
once ambivalent and stark
