NGUYEN THI HOP graduated from the Saigon National
Fine Arts School in 1964 and is a member of the
Vietnamese Young Artists Association. Since 1966,
she has had many solo and group exhibits in
Saigon, Paris (France), Germany, and the United
States. She is also a prolific illustrator for
numerous books published worldwide. NGUYEN
DONG graduated from Dalat University in 1965.
Since then, his works have been exhibited
regularly in Saigon, Europe, and the United
States. He also wrote art reviews for several
newspapers and magazines in Saigon. This husband
and wife team of veteran artists have mastered
the art of collaboration. They sketch, draw,
color, exhibit, work and do almost everything
together and have for about 50 years. They can
order each others favorite food at restaurants
and finish each others sentences. Nguyen Thi
Hop is known for her strokes that describe the
nuances of everyday livings and everyday people
in traditional Vietnamese families. Nguyen Thi
Hop also presented and illustrated a number of
publications, children's stories, Buddhist
classics, many special works by Zen Master Nhat
Hanh, research books published in Vietnam, Japan,
Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Sweden, etc. There
are many of these publications that can also be
considered as her works of life.
