Nguyen Thanh Binh Nguyen Thanh Binh derives
much of his inspiration for his paintings from
Japanese Haiku poetry where a minimal number of
words portray great meaning. Many people look at
Binhs paintings and see a kind of poetic
simplicity and on the surface they may be
correct. However, Binh has endured significant
trials of both mind and body and his art
represent a place of refuge which is deeply
influenced by his experiences. I use oils and
canvas originated in the west and combines them
with my eastern eyes, hands and mind to create my
paintings. My pieces may appear to be simple but
my mind is brimming with memories, feelings and
passion and each of them quietly resonates from
my soul.
