Roman Shustrov born (1959) in St. Petersburg
graduated from the prestigious Repin Academy of
Fine Arts in St. Petersburg in 1986. Since 1988
Shustrov started specializing in papier-mâché
doll sculptures. Later on he became a lecturer on
the genre at the Institute of Aplied Arts in St.
Petersburg, and participated in the creation of a
museum-gallery of original art toys and dolls

In the Shustrovs world, every doll sculpture is
endowed with an individual character and
personality. The artist doesnt repeat his
creations working in papier-mâché its
practically impossible

Roman Shustrov became a member of the Asociation
of Russian Artists in 1998. He is also a member
of the International Organization of Doll
Sculpture Artists (NIADA)
