Once considered a myth, the blue poppy is
incredibly rare, almost impossible to grow in the
UK. North Yorkshire's Himalayan Garden and
Sculpture Park, one of the few places the
Meconopsis blue poppy can be grown The Himalayan
Garden Sculpture Park is home to over 80
striking contemporary sculptures, situated within
45 acres of stunning woodland and gardens and
1,300 blue ceramic poppies - cascading down the
hillside The poppies have been handmade with the
help of local schools, colleges and public
workshops. Each poppy has been personalised with
messages about the pandemic or the names of
family and friends they lost.
