INTRODUCTION
This manual contains instructions for op- erating
as well as lubrieating and installing 2he
International 1501 F'ront Mounted Loader on e
ither the International B 275 or B 414
Tractors. If you should need inforrriation not
given in this manual or if you should require the
services of a trained mechanic , get in touch
with the Inter - national Harve ater Dealer in
your locality. Deal- ers are kept Informed on
the latest methode of
seriicing our equipment. They earry stocks
of I. H, part s and they are backed in every
case by the full faeilities of a nearby
International Harves - ter District
Oftice. Throughout this manual , the use of the
terms LEGT and RICHT . z ill indicate the left
and r ight side of the machine when sitting in
the Operator's seat facing front. FRONT is the r
adiator end of the tractor and REAB ta the
drawbar end.
ADJUHTING AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONB
The 1501 Loade r uses single acting cylin - cont
rol va lve very carefully. dera for raising the
boom.
Do not suddenly
thrust the valve wide epen and then yerk it com -
pletely closed. The heavy lord will gain tnomen-
tum downward when the control valve is released
then when the valve is Suddenly closed the
loader's r echanical travel is halted , but the
momentum of the heavy load applies high stresses
to boom arms. Overcome this by slowly opening or
closing the control valve , this will release or
retard the fluid gradually and by doing so , will
ease the load to the desired position , instead
of dropping or bounc - ing it.
Either the 40 Manure Bucket or the 40 Material
Bucket can be equipped with the mech- anical
latch bucket trip or the double acting hyd-
raulic cylinder bucket control.
NOTE When it is necessary to lift a heavy load
to a high pos it ten and then lower it to another
pos ition before demping, be eure to operate the
MECHANICAL BATCH BUC KET TRIP
ït\ust. 3A H 8442
After the boom is raised, the bucket can be
dumped instantly by moving the bucket release
handle toward the rear. The handle is spring
loaded and will return to its original position
when released, The bucket is fre e to aw ing and
should return tO the latched poaiiion, hmvever,
if for some reason it does not , lower ing the
bucket to the ground will latch it
automatically, The pitch of the bu oket may be
changed to G91t varioua digging conditions.
Three positions
are provided on the bucket side. The center pos-
it ion will set the bucket level with the bucket
at ground level, the front position lifts the
front of the bucket off the ground , whereas ,
the rear pos- it ion tips the front of the
bucket downward. To change the degree of the
bucket, Gimply pull Out the quick -attaching
cotter pin, remove the tapered end pin, move the
roiler to the desired position and replace the
pin and cotter. Be sure the pine are in
corresponding hole s on both Gide s of the
bucket , Illust. 3A.

omrnended in the Tractor Operator's hlanual.
4"ipe ozay all grease and dirt before re mci
ing filler caps , plugs or otker parts requiring
semi ce, Plug all open ports so that dirt cannot
ente r , as dirt is in urious to the pump and
valves . Wash all parts to be reassembled
thcireughly in solvent. NOTE then the loader is
io be re move d from the I ra etor , and is not
o be used for a period of time , i is
recommended that lubricant be ap- plied to any
exposed surfac e of the piston rods. If your
tractor hydraulic pressure line s have been rew
orked to use the hydraulie bucket control and you
wiGñ to disconnect your reader , a tractor
pressure line cvaupling is supplied w Ltd each
hydraulic bucket cont rel. Refer to illest. 4H.

pounds weight may be added can the 3 point hitch
Iinkage at ther ear of the I raeior to
countertalance the w e ight of the loader. Rear
mcunte d equipment can am-o be used as ballast .
ADDING FLUTD A PTER CONNECTING C5"L - DERS AND
HOSES Start the engine and operate it at a mode r
- ate idle spe ed and operate cylinder pist one
to their maximum stroke in both directions about
ten ttme s . This will fill the cylinders and
hose s with fluid and remove air from the
system. Set the cylinder piss ons in the
retracted posit ten (all the u ay in). If
necessary, add fluid \ p to the proper TeveT.
Refer to Iract or Operat - or's Manual.
FILTER SPRV ICE Disre gar d the trite rvals for
cleaning the screen and replacing the filter
elem ents in your tractor manual when operating
the loader and use the follow ing inst
auctions When starting a new unit , clean the
screen and repla ee the elements after the first
f0 hours of operation and every IOO to 00 hours
there after , depending on the nature of use of
the loade r. Du -ty climate s and maie ria 1
require more frequent filter changes . Serene e
intervals car. best be determined by the
individual operator. See the Tractor Op- erator's
Manual for re inova1 lnstruetions also
instructions to eheck the fluid level. \Vhen re -
using f mid , be sure to filter it thoroughly so
that dirt is not tntroducted ino the
system. Alw ays have the eylmder s retracted
when checking the fluid level. A clogged tilt er
will be indicated by one or more of the follow
ing Noisy pump Overheating Loss of power Slow
and er ratic operation
THA C3"GR SLIPPACE Tractor slippag. can be
overcome by add- ing water or calc rum chloride
solution in the rear tires , or adding rear
wheel weights. Refer to your tractor Operator
's Manual.
OPE RAT UG SPEE D The tractor engine may be
operated at full th retle for normal operations.
When working over rough Ier rain or in limited
working space , reduce engine speed
aecordingly. Place the tractor in first gear when
diggi ng or perform ing heavy operations . Secend
gear may be used when loading , levelling or
grading.
TRANSPOH5ING then transporting , roll back the
bucket or latch i tirtd raise the Ioom to give
the same ground e'.earanee as provided by the I
racter while st ill ca rrying the bucket low
enough for adequate cis - ibility.
COLD WEATifER STA RTIN G Warm the hydraulic fluid
by running the tractor engine at idling speed
for several minutes before operating the loader
eylinders.
