  • Before starting a new engine, ret-ove the spark
    plugs and put about one ounce of gas engine
    lubricating oil into each cylinder replace the
    spark plugs and crank the engine to distribute
    the oil over the cylinder walls.
  • During the first one hundred hours of operation,
    mix one pint of engine oil with every five
    gallons of fuel.
  • Engine is filled with oil suitable for running
    in a new engine. Before optrofing
  • under load, the czancase should bz drained
    completely and filled with oil as speciJed
  • Tractors shipped Domestic and Canada are properly
    filled with oil in all parts when shipped from
    the factory. All oil is drained from frocfors
    shipped Export. However, Tractor should be
    checked over for proper quantities of oil before
    starting.
  • Do not operate o ncr Tremor immediately onull
    load. The Tractor should never be loaded to full
    capacity until it has been run for a reasonable
    length of time.
  • When tractor lugs are attached to wheels of new
    tractor or when nez lugs are attached to old
    wheels, the lug bolts should be tightened at
    short intervals in order that lugs may properly
    seat themselves.

A less infIammbl fluid than gosolin should be
stead, such a Stoddard We reserve the right to

without incurring the obligation to install such
changes on Tractors previously purchased. When
ordering parts, be sure to give Secial Number and
Model of Tractor and name and number of Part
Ordered. This book contains, in addition to
instructions for operating, instructions and
illustrations pertaining to certain simple
adjustments and replacements which can readily be
made. However, the owner ehould consult the
serxice dealer before attempting a general
overhauling or when any mechanical difhculties
occur, as he has the necessary equipment for
doing the work.

rol valve must be set

arrow east on the lower exhaust pas sage . In
extremely hot weather the c ontrol valve can
be s et with the Int ermedlate notch oppo site
the arrow. 0fI- The baffle deflects tAe gases
down agalnst the intabe portion of tbe manifold
when in kerosene position. To change the baffle
from one position to the other, un- screw the two
nuts "A-A", pull the baffle out and turn lt
