RCE Advocate at the Southeast Service

Melanie Lawrence-Smith's career began in
Richfield Public Schools, where she dedicated
nineteen years to teaching grades 3rd, 4th, and
5th. In 2014, she transitioned to a TOSA role,
where she developed the district's first
teacher-led evaluation and professional
development systems.

Melanie Lawrence (Lakeville) later advanced to
Assistant Principal at Richfield STEM Elementary
in 2017, overseeing a large and diverse student
and staff population.

Holding advanced degrees in education and K-12
administration from Concordia University and the
University of Minnesota, Melanie Lawrence
