1DIY Tyre Fitting Guide Brought to You
2When it's time to replace worn or damaged tyres,
avoid garage wait times by having our Mobile Tyre
Fitting London experts attend your home or
workplace anywhere in London for convenient
fitting. But for competent DIYers, here is a safe
tyre fitting process
3Position Vehicle Park on a solid level surface
with ample working room all around the wheel
arches. Engage parking brake and chock opposites
sides of wheels remaining on the ground.
4Loosen Lug Nuts While wheels are still
supporting vehicle weight, crack-loosen each lug
nut securing the wheel but don't remove yet.
5Raise Vehicle Position hydraulic trolley jack
beneath approved vehicle jacking points. Lift
until tyre just lifts off the ground. Immediately
support on an axle stand.
6Remove Wheel Finish unscrewing all loosened lug
nuts by hand before carefully extracting the
wheel from the hub mounts.
7Change Tyre Deflate old tyre completely before
breaking the bead seal and prying tyre edges off
the rim. Refit replacement tyre by hand ensuring
correctly centred.
8Refit Wheel Offer the wheel straight back onto
the hub studs without damaging mating surfaces.
Perform initial hand tighten of lug nuts to hold
in place.
9Lower Vehicle Raise jack to allow full vehicle
weight to bear down on newly fitted tyre and
wheel assembly.
10Final Torque Use calibrated torque wrench to
fully tighten lug nuts to spec in opposite star
pattern.
11Recheck Torque After a short drive, reconfirm
correct torque settings are still adhered to on
all lug nuts.
